Hello Veg Peeps!
I finally unboxed my FabFitFun box for winter 2017 and am here to share that with you, my peeps! FabFitFun is a million times more animal-friendly than you thought! Before showing you the products (though you can skip down to my unboxing video), I want to explain why I started with FFF over a year ago.
I think having a vegan voice in these boxes is highly important since all people can benefit from non-vegans products, and our vote in that direction ensures that have access to those products. So far, I have been undeniably pleased with how tailored and animal-friendly the products I receive have been. I am very cognizant to go online and give feedback after receiving the products to ensure they keep seeking out and offer the vegan gems! I know that some people hate the notion of consumerism, and my feelings resign in the same space as people saying we should not add to the human population. My thoughts are, sure, and let non-vegans do that kind of change. Vegans need to consume and take part in raising the next generation to ensure like-minded people exist in weeks/years/centuries to come and demonstrate what a fully compassionate life looks like. Those vegans that take themselves out of the gene-pool and market by eliminating their participation are making the world a bit harder for themselves and others (obviously just my opinion!).
I have been vegan for almost 12 years, so I remember the days when Vegan Essentials was my only hope of getting some vegan products. Those days are gone, and we have the opportunity to have even better days by trying to get most products vegan. So many companies are waking up to animal product and by-product alternatives, and we need to reinforce those just woke eyes with some validation. In the world of retail, that means voting with our dollars. I do not want to see these subscription services, such as Ipsy, FabFitFun, Wantable, or StitchFix (to name a few) to think that their market does not want vegan and cruelty-free items. In sharing this, I hope to build a bridge which may seem a stretch, and we must the change we want to see. I want to see all companies and services recognizing the vegan consumer as one that is just as valid and strong as any other. Enough of that, let’s get into the fun stuff!!!
Fab Fit Fun is offering a coupon to you: PICNIC10 will get you 20% off your first box which means you could have received all of this for just $40.

BB Dakota Poncho $70.00 [VEGAN]
I love this for the sheer fact that ponchos are essentially wearable blankets. I’ll post some pics about how I ended up styling and wearing this soon! I cannot wait to try a new style. I have NEVER publically rocked a poncho and feel that now is the time. Check out the link above for FREE RETURNS AND SHIPPING, thus no risk to try out a great brand. You can also sign-up for their newsletter and get 15% off plus FREE shipping.
AHAVA Mineral Hand Cream With Dead Sea Water $6-33 [VEGAN]
This cream is sooo expensive! I would not have purchased this on my own which is why I LOVE these boxes. Despite the price tag or rather in keeping with the price, this hand lotion is one of those products that you put on and your hands feel almost a dry, slippery-ness to the touch. I most often will shake someone’s hand and then wonder if their skin that soft or what do they use? They use this! This gives that user that baby-skin softness that is so rare. Even my current favorite hand-cream cannot stand up to this, because while it adds moisture, it does not feel like it’s changing my skin texture, whereas this one feels like having baby soft hands. It’s worth every penny! I can honestly say, at this point, I would repurchase it. I know that since I had that feeling after using it just a few times that I wanted to buy a tube for everyone I know! It just kills me that everyone cannot have amazing things like this. By far, BEST HAND CREAM EVER!!! The only drawback is that my partner, Ben, who is known for having super-smell said it smelled like baby diapers which he clarified to mean baby powder. Not the image you want to conjure in your spouse, but I like baby powder scent! Perhaps, save this one for the office or your daytime use. They also have these in body lotion ($10-56). I’m trying that next!
Homemade by Ayesha Curry Mug $16 [VEGAN]
I‘m likely going to gift this. It’s just a lovey-like mug and why would I want to keep that for myself without a sweet memory attached? I checked the Homemade Meal Service Company of the brand. They offer vegetarian options, but no vegan. They also offer meals that are friendly enough to allow your kiddo to be the chef if you want them to learn and do more cooking which is super neat!
Pointe Studio Aloe Infused Cozy Sock $19 [VEGAN]
I think for these I want to give them a good run meaning that I want to wear them for a week post-shower which I do right before bed and then see if I notice any difference in my feet. I’m doing this since these items seem like a good idea but do not know how well they really work. I’ll keep you posted!
Kate Somerville ExfoliKate® Intensive Exfoliating Treatment $75
Kate Somerville is a known cruelty-free brand and states the only non-vegan product is a goat milk cream, thus all other products are vegan. This one says it has honey, so that’s not typically considered vegan. Some vegans are okay with it, and you’ll need to decide that for yourself. Upon reading the FFF insert, I learned that Kate, herself, just went vegan! I get so excited when leaders are choosing to live compassionately. I might put a hold on trying this since I’m working on a certain facial regimen now (and because of the honey). With having melasma and a tendency toward the malar rash from an old battle with lupus SLE, I am always on the hunt for a good exfoliant to keep those dead layers at bay.
This Works Deep Sleep Pillow Spray $29 [VEGAN]
The initial review is that this stuff smells very strongly. I loved it. My partner did not. I do think I slept better because the scent just made me feel so cozy and peaceful. I likened it to sleeping in a hippy-den as the scent was hippy-esque and the sense of peace was all around. For me, that’s GREAT, and I’ll keep using it, not sure how the partner will feel about that.

Nelson j Beverly Hills Moisture Healing Mask $23 [VEGAN]
Instantly, I love that this hair mask encourages you to put it on dry hair, because whether it be a deep conditioner or mask, I often end up using it just like that, as a barrier between my dry hair and the environment. When I do that, it helps hold moisture and fight frizz. Easy, and it smells great, coconut.
DOUCCE Freematic Eyeshadow Pro Palette $70 [Still awaiting confirmation about vegan status]
I love the concept of this palette. It’s about individuality and high-quality, high-concentration pigments. I’ve currently got
my emails from the company to confirm the vegan nature of these pigments. As I mentioned, the highlight is vegan, and now just to discover the other pigments are as well will be so thrilling!
8 OTHER REASONS Nine Lives Choker $58 [VEGAN]
Can’t say enough about the shine, so I’ll insert a pic!
Grace & Stella Anti-Wrinkle + Energizing Eye Masks $22 [VEGAN]
As I mentioned, the ingredient that was just written as collagen on the back of the package worried me. After emailing the company, I was able to confirm that the actual collagen is derived from seaweed! They are vegan which is a score for the animals and us!
Lauren B Beauty – Nail Polish Remover Pads (15) (Add-on for $6) [VEGAN]
The scent of this pack is sweet berry blossom, and that’s just what you smell! That’s why I love these products. Gone are the days of fearing whether your nail polish remover will knock you out upon opening it. Products like these make it more likely that I’ll actually do my nails. Manicure pics coming soon!
Pure Cosmetics Palette Smokey $50 (Add-on for $15) [VEGAN]
It took a few emails back and forth, and I was able to confirm with Pure Cosmetics that this and the other palette mentioned are not tested on animals nor do they use animal-derived pigments in these products. I think that they were a little confused with my line of questions at first since the company was founded on the idea that lanolin is a miracle product. In the end, they were very helpful, thoughtful, kind, and considerate. I am so happy to raise the questions and will gladly support this company and their vegan eyeshadow palettes! Yay!
